ERNIE BARRON
Owner of Championship Baseball, the only indoor batting facility on the Westside of LA. Creator and coach of Scorpions baseball team for boys age 12-15, who have earned many championship titles over the years.
Barron is a local success story. A star high school football and baseball player, Barron was drafted directly from Hamilton High School by the Minnesota Twins, where he was a catcher for five years. He then played for two years for the Atlanta Braves as a pitcher, until a shoulder injury ended his career. Initially bitter about the end of his pro career, Barron soon discovered that he loved teaching children the '"art" of baseball and has been doing so for the last 20 years. During that time, Barron has worked for several different companies and can boast that 39 of his past students have gone on to play college and professional ball, including Brennan Boesch, who graduated from Harvard Westlake and currently plays for the Boston Red Sox. Ernie coached Brennan since he was 9 years old and all the way through high school.
