Ric Cly gave Club 42 it's fisrt home at VCAA in Encino, where he carved out a field for Club 42 to use every Sunday, allowing the program to develop into what it is today. Ric loved baseball. He taught kids how to pitch and recognized talent in some kids they didn't know they had. He organized charity tournaments like the Joe Torre Safe at Home and Toys for Tots tournaments. Ric's true loves in life were baseball and helping kids. 

“Dad you taught me baseball, you taught me values you gave me morals you believed in me,” he wrote. “You gave me strength showed me courage, picked me up when I was down, kicked me around when I was dumb, you made me laugh and made me cry, but I am the happiest son ever I am, and for that I am blessed to have been your son.
